Writing Evaluation
We are still working on our evaluations, but today I decided to choose prezi, wix and mindmiester as my individual technology work. I attempted to use Xtranormal, however this site only allowed me a number of word and this was over the number of word I had on my questions.

Top Models Survey
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/B6TQL88
We planned out our answers as a group and placed our work on the technology site of Survey Monkey. In order to receive feedback from other media students, we needed to analyse their work and produce feedback for their finishing product. The questions we asked were subject to our overall product and the formation of the questions were placed in a questionnaire. The first question which we asked was what they liked about the music video. The answers we received were the dancer, that it follows the case studies we did the music videos on, that the music was good and that the girls are shown in time with the music when the lyrics of the song says ‘top models’. The next question was what the disliked about our music video. The answers we received were the phone conversation at the beginning; they believed the editing was poor and that the dancer was not good enough. I disagree with the feedback regarding the dancer as many feedbacks which were given were applauding the dancer. All of the students completing the questionnaire believed that the music video relates to the genre of RnB and hip hop. This feedback was good, as we aimed to bring across our genre to our target audience. The feedback which was giving in terms of the costume was that it had the conventions of an R&B music video and that the all black worked out well. This was important feedback as we took time arranging the costumes between the artists whilst using case studies to find the ideal outfits. The audience believed that our product will ‘sell fairly’. This feedback is satisfactory as it proves that our target market would purchase out product. The feedback which was obtained was satisfactory, although we had tried very hard to make our product narrative based, we received one feedback stating ‘tell the story better’. Although, we received negative and positive feedback, the positive overruled. I believe that my finishing product is a success and that the target audience would be interested in purchasing my product.

Creating Magazine- Front cover
we designed the template first and inserted the logo (Just like the CD-front cover)
we involved a grey background as we believed the contrast between the black/grey worked well with eachother as a product
we worked on the conventional words which are usually placed in advertising posters. E.g Logo, song title
we placed the logo on photoshop and played with different colour/shades and reduced the size of the logo
From here, we realised what words would be placed in the centre of our advertisement
we placed a black/white drawing as an example of how our actual poster would look like in the near future

Creating the logo using logo maker
Firstly we had to choose the type of logo to create. We chose the theme of 'arts, entertainment'.
Secondly, we had to choose the type of crown which would suite our product.
Finally we chose the gold crown as it fitted into our colour scheme of our CD (front cover) and advertising poster.

Choosing Print Products
Today, we chose the possible images which would be used for either our advertising poster, CD digipac and CD digipac. Our main aim was to choose the image with the best camera angles and lighting. These were the following images we chose:
(White Background)
(Black Background)
(Black Background)
(Black Background)
(Black Background)
Studio
Today, we decided to take shots
of both the artists involved in our music video. Our aim was succeeded as we
decided to make the rapper urbanised and the singer urbanised but in a softer
look. We attempted many medium shots to commit to the plan that the main CD
cover will be organised in this way. Overall, the images we took were successful
and the time was consumed well and organised.
We took a shot of the studio to indicate how space we was working with whilst filming
We chose a variety of shots which
looked effective and professional. We indicated for the artists to dress
urbanised and we achieved this goal. Both artists were dressed in a similar
colour of blue and of the same shade. This makes our colour scheme easier,
which will obviously consist of blue. We experimented in the studio, by using a
black and white background. In some of the images the white background looked
effective. However, the black blended well with the blue contrast of the actors
clothes. We costumed the rapper (Tyrell) in a ring and other accessories to
make it obvious that he was the rapper figure. Whereas, the singer (Nicolas)
was smiling and rather cheerful, hopefully this allows the audience to
understand which character is what role. We allowed both the artist to
appear confident by looking straight at the camera. Both the rappers found the
photo shoot highly satisfactory.
Before the actors appeared to the photo shoot, my group took
images in order to see if our images looked professional. Here were the
following images:
Plan for CD/ ADV
These images were plans on how we wanted our print products to look on our digipac and advertising poster.

Drawing Of CD/ Ad
In order to generate
the idea of how our CD covers Kulsoom drew an example of how the artists would
be placed on the cover of our CD and advertisement.
We decided that most
CD front covers and advertisements have a medium shot of the artist, regardless
if there are two artists placed on the cover

Concept- This shoot aims
to show the relationship between two boys who are very close and do everything
together, including going after girls. One of the boys, who is the rapper, is
more of a rough character and the other is more sensitive. This is empathised
through the models dress codes. To show the closeness of their relationship, as
well as the difference between their characters we have a medium shot of both
of them standing close to each other. In relation to the dress code, the rapper
model has to be dressed in an urban fashion to fit into his role. Whereas the
singer is dressed less urban.

Organisation
Today, my group decided to
organise the studio times. We decided to book the studio at 3pm until 4.30 on Friday
25th. We know that we are aiming to do excellent photography for our
music cover and advertisement poster. Therefore, our photography aims to show
the relationship between two boys who are close and do everything together,
including going after girls. The rapper is a rough character and the singer is
more sensitive and romantic. This is shown in the dress codes. To show their
relationship we have chosen to use a medium shot of both of them close to each
other. In relation to the dress code, we decided that the rapper has to be
dressed in an urban fashion to fit in with his role. Whereas, the singer is
dressed less urban and casual. In regards to the models on the CD cover and
advertisement, we were confused on whether to use the rapper or not. However
due to the fact that we had researched other artists. For example Bow Wow ft.
Omarion (below). We came to the conclusion that Tyrell (the rapper) would be
joining Nicolas (the singer) on the cover and the advertisement. We also came
to the conclusion that our CD cover and advertisement will be continuous with
the same or similar photography. In regards to the logo, as in ‘Top Models’,
the word ‘top’ can be associated as superior or royal we decided to use a
crown. However, our teacher informed us that we cannot take a crown off Google
images. Therefore, we will be looking into drawing a crown and scanning it to
see how it works with the logo. Today, I also completed the task of doing the
call sheet which registered the studio time/date/models and the story line for
the photography.

Creating Our Font
From the research we obtained, as a group we realised that a bold title would fit in with our genre. We analysed different fonts on Photoshop then realised that no other fonts fitted in with our genre. Therefore, we created an original font online.
Wednesday, 16 January 2013
Feedback Of CD Cover & Advertisement
The key pieces of feedback we found were:
- We decided to go for a bold font on our CD digipac and advertising poster
-If we have a plain black background, we have to place a CD print on top.
-Overall, they liked our ideas.
